St Nicolas’ is situated on an elevated site on the edge of Guildford town centre. It is a relatively small school, catering to the needs of 110 children. This gives it a very homely feel which children starting school for the first time warm to.
The emphasis of the school team is to treat all members of the school community with equal respect. Our committed teaching and support staff, led by an excellent headteacher, are well prepared and have high expectations of all the children. Boys and girls from a range of different backgrounds make similarly good progress, and those children with special educational needs are very successful in reaching their potential. The school has good relationships with the two main junior schools and children move on to the next phase of their education with relative ease and confidence.
Governors work closely and creatively with staff to create a clear vision and promote school improvement.
There is a very high standard of behaviour at St. Nicolas’ School; attendance and achievement are outstanding. These standards are reflected in the positive, supportive attitudes of our parents.
I hope this has given you a small insight into St Nicolas’ School and we would look forward to welcoming you and your child into our happy, vibrant community.
Julia Powell, Chair of Governors
